Be spotted in the dark

Even the lightest colour dog can be hard to see in the dark by you, by others or by traffic. Fluorescent or hi-vis jackets, collars, leads, harnesses and other items are so useful. And don’t forget to put your own protective clothing on, as well as using a torch if you need to.
