PRE-STAY INFORMATION
To enable care and service to be delivered according to the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018,  dog Owners will provide JB Dog Care with the following information:
(a) daily routines/habits, medical history and any usual medications taken
(b) Owners’ usual, holiday and emergency contact details
(c) Veterinary Surgery’s contact details
It should be noted that JB Dog Care does not condone, or practice, negative dog punishment/training.
A trial meeting period will be arranged to enable JB Dog Care to meet the dog and accept him/her as a suitable boarder, as well as giving Owners an opportunity to observe the environment in which their dog will be staying.

PREVENTATIVE TREATMENTS
The following should be up to date and copies of the relevant certificates provided to JB Dog Care:
(1) Vaccinations, including kennel cough if the Owner has chosen for their dog to receive it
(2) Worm/flea/tick treatments
(3) Insurance, if the Owner has chosen for their dog to be covered
(4) Microchipping (this is compulsory from April 2016 under the Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2015)

LEGAL AND QUALITY ISSUES
JB Dog Care:
a) Is licensed by New Forest District Council (Licence number ANBH/1068/6)
b) Holds a Canine First Aid Certificate
c) Holds Introductory and Intermediate Canine Psychology qualifications
d) Holds certificate in Natural Healing for Dogs
JB Dog Care has third party liability and household combined insurance cover provided by Cliverton Insurance, the trading name of Lycett, Browne-Swinburne & Douglass Ltd.
All licenses and certificates are available for inspection.

GUARDIANSHIP
JB Dog Care will act as the dog’s temporary guardian during the Owners’ absence and will take any action considered suitable in order to protect the dog’s welfare and safety and to keep him/her in good health.
The dog’s Owner will provide specific instructions concerning the dog’s behaviour during, and ability to, walk off-lead, as in section 7 of the Dog’s Profile.JB Dog Care will offer all dogs a minimum of two 20 minute walks per day.
The Owner, or their named alternative, will be contacted in the event of a health, or other, emergency concerning the dog. Please note that JB Dog Care cannot be held responsible for any impact this may have on an Owner’s holiday.
In the event of an emergency affecting JB Dog Care, it will arrange for alternative appropriate boarding and inform the Owner, or their named alternative.
Temporary collar identification tags with JB Dog Care details will be used while the dog boards with JB Dog Care.
JB Dog Care will give medication and/or care for any long-term health conditions from which the dog suffers, after discussion with and written authorisation from the Owner.
The Owner will complete a Veterinary Authorisation Form to inform the dog’s Veterinary Surgery of the Owner’s absence. Copies of the Form will be held by the Owner, the Surgery and by JB Dog Care.
In the event of the Owner not returning to collect their dog, JB Dog Care reserves the right to request the Owner’s named alternative contact to collect the dog. If they do not do so, JB Dog Care will make arrangements for a suitable animal welfare organisation to assume responsibility for the dog.

PAYMENTS AND REFUNDS
Fees and inclusive boarding rates are detailed on the ‘Quotation for Dogboarding Service’ sheet. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a booking, with the balance paid 4 weeks before the stay.
JB Dog Care and the dog’s Owner will agree a time for the dog to be delivered to, and collected from, JB Dog Care. If required, JB Dog Care will collect/return the dog to/from their Owner; the fee for this service is £10.00 up to a 10 mile radius.

Included in the fee are:
• 24 hour care as per the dog’s usual routines and habits
• Bowls for food and water
• Dog beds, cushions, crates, collars, leads, harnesses, blankets and towels
• Selection of toys
• Dog waste bags
• Laundry of any items as/when necessary (laundered at 60 C)
• Transport to/from walks, visits or appointments; please note dogs will be secured in the car using a travel harness, unless agreed otherwise
• Diary of the dog’s stay

Not included are:
• Dog’s usual food, treats, collars, leads
• Favourite toys, blankets, bed etc
• Any other specific equipment

The dog’s Owner will be responsible for any costs which might be incurred:
1. Veterinary or other, as a result of any sickness, accident or damage caused to or by the boarded dog, except third party liability, and will pay any such costs or expenses on demand
2. To property owned by JB Dog Care not caused by JB Dog Care’s negligence or by leaving the dog alone for an unacceptable period of time as advised in section 9 of the Dog’s Profile.
No liability will attach to JB Dog Care or to Cliverton.
A refund of 50% of the total fee will be made if the boarding arrangement is cancelled by the dog’s Owner more than 4 weeks before the dog is due to begin its stay with JB Dog Care. A 100% refund will be made if the boarding arrangement is cancelled at any time by JB Dog Care.

CONFIDENTIALITY
None of the information within these Terms and Conditions, relating to a particular dog, will be shared with anyone except those who may be directly involved with the dog’s care and service. In line with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018, JB Dog Care’s electronic records are password protected. Individual dog’s electronic records will be stored on external disks, memory sticks or memory cards. Paper records are stored in locked filing cabinets. Records will be destroyed by shredding if, and when, they are no longer relevant.

BOARDING DIARY AND PHOTOGRAPHS
JB Dog Care will keep a written record of the dog’s stay to enable feedback to the Owner. A copy of the diary will be offered to the Owner.

OVERLAPPING BOARDING PERIOD
An overlap of boarding periods may occur if there is a delay in an Owner collecting a dog, or if an Owner delivers a dog early. JB Dog Care will keep this period of time to a minimum and, if necessary, dogs will be separated from each other. Dog Owners’ written permission for dogs to share will be obtained as necessary.
